In the year 198 of the Solar Era in Tokyo, special fire brigades called Fire Force battle the rising number of cases of spontaneous human combustion, where humans become living infernos called “Infernals.” Shinra Kusakabe is a third-generation pyrokinetic who earned the nickname “Devil’s Footprints” for his ability to ignite his feet at will. He joins Fire Force Company 8, which includes other flame users tasked with extinguishing any Infernals they encounter and investigating Companies 1 through 7.

Summary

Shinra is a third-generation pyrokinetic who longs to join the Special Fire Force to help save people from spontaneous human combustion. The story begins with his mysterious past. We know he lost his family to a Hellfire when he was very young. Because of his ability to ignite fire with his feet, he earned the nickname “Devil’s Footprints.” Many blamed him for the deaths of his mother and brother.
